The VCR Co-Pilot is a really dumb VCR remote for those who are afraid of technology. As dumb and low-tech as this product may sound, we may still have some people in our lives who this product is perfect for. In my case, it was for my mom. She isn't that old or dumb, she just doesn't want to take the time to learn anything about technology. As you can guess, she still uses a VCR in this day and age of replayTV and TiVo.

This product is just a remote with 2 big dials. You set the time on remote, leave your VCR on and set to the channel you want to record and turn the start dial time to the desired start time and the stop dial to the desired stop time and aim it at the VCR. Basically the VCR Co-Pilot is like having someone stand next to your VCR with instructions from you on when to press the RECORD button and when to press STOP button for you.

It does what it says as advertised or in this case, as seen on TV and how can it not? It is so simple, my mom is currently complaining that the time on the remote isn't accurate and has the wrong time after a couple of days. I'm testing it out as I type this post, maybe I just got a bad unit is my guess. After all I think these units are close to discontinued. I'll posted any updates on the time tracking issue, if there is one. I bought this unit online for roughly $20 shipped, then I saw it at my local Walgreens for like $10!!!! AH!!!
